Get your (remote) sprint on!

Lucie at Sixfeetup has kicked off a series of Friday afternoon sprints (starting today) leading up to a 2-day remote GetPaid sprint. We hope you will join us on one of these opportunities to jump into the GetPaid project and help make it even better!

One major thing that will be happening with this sprint is that we are refactoring the svn repository. So, take this as early warning to anyone running a buildout off of svn trunk...it will break in 2 weeks. We will also be working on cleaning up the issue tracker, eggifying products,

Sprint dates:

• Aug 8. Friday afternoon
  
• Aug 15, Friday afternoon
  
• Aug 21-22, 2 day sprint
  

Our sprint will have a variety of topics (exact work depends on number of people who sign up to help!!!), including:

• refactor svn repository
  
• review code
• fix issues there are several filed in the tracker (dennis)
• update translations (cjj for spanish)
• add greater test coverage (dennis)
• make a release (would support 2.5 and 3 together)
• reorganize (base, 30, 25) and document buildouts (how to add getpaid) (6ftup, dennis)
• eggify products and get to pypi (6ftup)
• make a branch to separate future 2.5 and 3 support (dennis)
• gather/improve/update/add documentation (list specific here)
• ReorganizeIssueTracker (cjj, gabrielle)

Next Friday (8/8), I will work on the 2 first items in the list :
 * create the new structure on my computer:
  * create a tmp folder
  * put all the sources needed in it, for example:
    * create tmp/getpaid.discount/branches and tmp/getpaid.discount/tags
    * no need to create the trunk yet since we will copy over later
 * once the structure is ready, import it: svn import tmp http://getpaid.googlecode.com/svn/

Then the Friday after that (8/15), I will do the serious stuff (the one that will break the buildout for everybody that is using the trunk), meaning moving all the trunk folders to the correct place and creating some documentation to help people follow the move.

Then 8/21-22 will be a normal getpaid sprint, where everybody can participate. I will work on adding PloneGetPaid into an existing buildout and document the process.
